FAQ: Answers to some frequently asked questions.

  • Bib/Race Number Placement – participants are to pin the bib to the front of their shirt at chest height.
  • Baby Strollers – not allowed per CARA rules but we do let them participate if they start at the back of the pack. They can cross the Finish line with the stroller so their time is recorded.
  • Dogs – not allowed per CARA and Tower Trot rules unless it’s a certified/marked aide dog.
  • The DOUBLE – run in both the 10K, then 5K races. If finishing 10K in under an hour, go to 5K Start. If finishing 10K in over an hour, go to 5K Start to cross start pad and complete 5K route. All Double runners receive a long sleeve shirt in lieu of short sleeve.
  • Bikes & skates – not allowed per CARA and Tower Trot rules.
  • Fun Run – Tower Trot form states under 9 years of age. Older children should register in the 5K race unless there are special circumstances for enrolling in the Fun Run.
  • 5K Walkers – no running allowed. If registering a child, encourage them to register in the 5K Run because runners can walk but walkers cannot run, and kids have a tendency to run.
  • Gear Check available 7am-11am in the Grand Ave gym on the stage.  Not responsible for valuables. Clear plastic bags will be given.  Mark your race number clearly on bag for supervised storage.  No fee.
  • CARA membership discounts: $3.00/$4.00 or $5.00 – must give CARA number CARA discount – CARA recommends $3 discount for fees under $24 (14 & under participants), $4 discount for fees $25-29 (dna), and $5 discount for fees $30-39 (others).  No discount for Fun Run. 
  • Refund Policy: $5.00 administrative fee up to 3:00 pm Friday prior to Race Day.  No Refunds Race Day.
  • Weather Policy: Race goes on rain or shine unless start delayed due to lightning up to an hour.  No refunds if race canceled due to severe weather.
