The contractor has completed the major sewer work on the 4000 block of Harvey Avenue. They will continue north today to work on various sanitary and drainage structures. Residents of Howard Avenue (47th-48th) should expect sewer work to begin in their area at the end of this week or early next week. Please be mindful of construction workers, traffic, and materials.
The roadway portion of the project is tentatively scheduled to begin upon the completion of the sewer work. The contractor informed me that they may be on-site late next week to begin saw cutting the roadway. Residents will not lose access to driveways as of yet but please keep checking updates. The removal of the east lane of Howard/Harvey will occur within the next 2-3 weeks, weather permitting.
Just a reminder, overnight parking restrictions on the surrounding side streets will be waived once residents lose access to their driveways. Access to driveways will always remain open at the end of the working day during the sewer work phase of the project. An update will be sent out to when driveway access will be lost and overnight on-street parking will be allowed.
