The landscaper will begin restoring the parkways with sod tomorrow, September 27, weather permitting. The roadway will remain open for public use but please be cautious when driving near construction crews and their vehicles. The landscaper will be leaving portions of the parkway in their current condition as the contractor still has some sidewalk replacement that needs to be completed. The Village will provide two weeks of watering for the new sod to help it become established. Supplemental watering may be completed if temperatures require it.
Fair Elms Avenue
The landscaper will be restoring areas of the parkway that were affected by curb and driveway apron replacement. These areas will be filled with top soil and seeded as they are too small for the installation of sod.
The contractor will be returning to Harvey/Howard in the next few weeks to repair portions of the roadway that have cracked. Cracking occurs due to the settling of the new roadway, sewer structures, and the curing of the concrete. The contractor is contractually obligated to repair these cracked sections at their cost.
