Water Shut Off
A leaking water valve was discovered during the 2018 Roadway Program at the intersection of 45th Street and Johnson Avenue. The water valve was not planned for replacement during the project. Public Works will be replacing the water valve on Tuesday, August 14th from 9 a.m. until approximately 4 p.m. The replacement will result in a loss of water service on Johnson Avenue, from Burlington to 47th. The replacement of the water valve is time sensitive as it needs to be done prior to the pavement removal/replacement on Johnson Avenue. We apologize for the additional, unplanned, loss of water service during our repair.
After the water has been turned on, you may notice discoloration. If you experience discoloration, run the cold water from a fixture that is located in the lowest level of the house until the water runs clear. Avoid doing laundry or using the dishwasher until the water runs clear.
Possible Schedule Changes
The contractor has informed the Village that they are exploring the option of using multiple crews to reconstruct both Lawn and Johnson Avenue at the same time. Previously, they planned to complete pavement removals/replacement on Lawn Avenue before moving to Johnson. More updates will be sent out once an official schedule change is issued by the contractor and accepted by the Village. Pavement removals are tentatively scheduled to begin in 2-3 weeks.
