The east lane of Lawn Avenue was completed on Friday. The pavement is curing, which is the process of the concrete building enough strength to handle the weight of everyday traffic without failing. The curing process of the concrete used takes 2-5 days. Construction on the west lane of Lawn Avenue is tentatively scheduled to take place at the end of this week or early next week. The west lane of Lawn Avenue will be re-opened for use as a temporary one-way street until the west lane is completed.
The sidewalk on the east side of Lawn Avenue will be removed tomorrow, Tuesday, October 2, 2018, weather permitting. A temporary sidewalk path will be created on the new east lane pavement, as it is cured enough to handle foot traffic. Temporary stone access to each business will be installed. The new concrete sidewalk is scheduled to be poured this week and re-opened before the weekend.
Update 10/1/2018 11:45 PM: The sidewalk removal of the east side of Lawn Avenue has been scheduled for later in the week. Concrete test results have come back and the concrete pavement on the east side of Lawn is not fully cured yet.
The contractor is on schedule to remove all of the east lane pavement by the end of the week.
