The contractor is still on schedule to complete the majority of the concrete items (pavement, driveways, sidewalk, etc.) by the Thanksgiving Holiday. All landscaping items (restoration of parkway with sod, tree/landscaping plantings, etc.) will likely be delayed until the spring due to the colder weather.
The east lane of Johnson Avenue (45th-Burlington) has been fully cured and will be re-opened for use today. The contractor is removing the pavement on the west lane so please be cautious when navigating the area.The contractor is pouring the west lane of Johnson Avenue (46th-47th) today. They will be pouring the west lane of Johnson Avenue (45th-46th) at the end of this week or early next week. The intersections of Johnson/45th and Johnson/46th are awaiting ComED pole relocations. The Village was informed that these relocations were to take place in September. Unfortunately, ComED has consistently delayed this work.The Village will be pursuing financial reimbursement from the utility company for any additional costs incurred by the delay. There have been no additional costs incurred to date.
The contractor is preparing and pouring the curb and gutter of the west lane this week. They will be pouring driveway aprons and pavement for the west side of the street at the end of this week or early next week. Upon completion of the pavement, the contractor will be removing and replacing the west sidewalk. The contractor is also scheduled to complete and open the east corner of Burlington/Elm this week.
