2018 Roadway Program - Spring Work Starting Week of April 15th

The contractor is scheduled to return next week (the week of April 15th). The exact date is weather dependent as the forecast is showing rain all week. The contractor did specify that they could be returning as early as Monday, if the weather is fair. The contractor is planning to work at both Lawn and Johnson Avenue simultaneously.

The following work will be completed this spring:

Lawn Avenue

  • Concrete repairs
  • Asphalt resurfacing of Post Office Drive
  • Re-grading of parkway and installation of topsoil and sod
  • Installation of brick pavers, trees, and plantings
  • Pavement Striping
  • Flag pole installation at Post Office

Johnson Avenue

  • Concrete Repairs and spot sidewalk replacement
  • Re-grading of parkway and installation of topsoil and sod
  • Pavement striping

There are no full road closures scheduled for the spring work. There will be partial closures when the contractor is re-grading the parkway and removing damaged sidewalk squares. The majority of homes will have access to their driveways for the duration of the work. The removal of various sidewalk squares may remove access to a small number of resident driveways. Those residents will be notified before access is lost. On-street parking for those residents will remain available.

Please try to limit on-street parking during the working day. The contractor will need access to all areas of the Village parkway to re-grade the land and install topsoil and sod. Vehicles parked on the street will slow down the project as they do not want to damage private property.  The project is tentatively scheduled to be completed before the Memorial Day holiday, weather permitting.
