2019 Asphalt Resurfacing Project - Official Start Date 10-7-19

The first phase of the 2019 Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) Roadway Resurfacing Project is scheduled to begin October 7,2019, weather permitting. Below is a list of the streets being resurfaced in asphalt in 2019:

  • 39th Street (Johnson to Franklin)
  • Maple Street (Hampton to Forest)
  • Grand Avenue (Maple to Chestnut)
  • Johnson Avenue (48th to Cul-de-sac)
  • Howard Avenue (Caroline to 52nd)
  • Dierks Drive (Harvey to Ellington)

The first phase of the project includes the replacement of portions of curb/gutter and sidewalk within the project area. Roadways will remain open to public use for the majority of this phase. However, please be mindful of construction equipment and crews and expect delays when entering or exiting these streets. Some residents will lose access to their driveways if curb replacement is occurring adjacent to the driveway apron. Those residents were notified via a second construction letter sent in September. That letter, and the original construction letter, can be found at the project web page, linked below. Any resident being displaced from their driveway will be notified by the contractor at least 24 hours ahead of time. The Village will also be sending a more detailed schedule and street order later this week. 24/7 parking on-street will be available on the streets in the project area for any resident losing driveway access.

Please contact Casey Biernacki at 708-246-1800 x 276 or at with any questions or concerns.
