The contractor will complete the replacement of concrete driveways, curb/gutters and sidewalks today, weather permitting. The concrete will areas will remain closed for 7-10 days for curing. Applying an excessive load, like a vehicle, to uncured concrete will significantly decrease the lifespan of the new pavement. Individuals discovered driving on the uncured concrete will be held financially responsible for repairs or replacement. Asphalt driveway aprons will be filled with temporary stone once the concrete curb is cured to allow access. Those aprons will be completed during the asphalt resurfacing phase of the project.
The contractor is tentatively schedule to begin grinding the asphalt streets next week. Access to driveways will be available during and after the grinding process. On-street parking will remain unavailable for the roadways under construction. Please drive carefully as the roadway surface will be rougher and there will be slight changes in elevation at the outside limits of the grinding areas. Once grinding is complete, the contractor will patch any areas of the roadway base that requires it. Asphalt resurfacing will occur, in two layers, once the patching is completed.
