Medical Reserve Corps/Citizen Reserve Corps (MRC/CRC)

Western Springs Emergency Management, as a division of the Department of Fire and EMS, established a federally approved Medical Reserve Corps and Citizen Reserve Corps (MRC/CRC) in 2009.

Medical Reserve Corps is a national project led by the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Preparedness and Response. The MRC is comprised of volunteers from the Village and neighboring communities who want to provide assistance in case of an emergency or disaster. MRC membership includes physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, dentists, communications specialists, logistics specialists, and child care specialists.

The mission of the Western Springs MRC is to provide medical, logistical, and administrative assistance to the Village of Western Springs as part of the Emergency Management Team to focus on strengthening our community resiliency.

If you are interested in joining the MRC or simply want to learn more about the organization, please contact MRC Director Paul McCoy at 708-246-1800 ext.178.
