The Police Department's State-certified officers and adult volunteer coordinators run the program, and teens serve as peer jurors, hearing cases referred by the Police Department. Explorer Post 740
The Explorer Post was created with the intent to give youth, with an interest in law enforcement, an opportunity to learn about the law enforcement profession and develop positive relationships with officers. The explorers receive instruction from experienced police officers called advisors. Explorers may participate in police ride-a-longs, radio training, state and national competitions with other explorer posts and also assist patrol officers with special events.-
