Engineering Services

The Department of Engineering Services’ primary mission is to protect the welfare of the Western Springs community. The Department provides a variety of services ranging from engineering plan review, project management, as well as storm water management for residential, commercial, and industrial developments.

The Department of Engineering Services works closely with the Community Development and Municipal Services Department and is responsible for:

• Providing and maintaining private development standards and details;
• Performing site inspections of new private developments for compliance with drainage and the Code of Ordinance requirements;
• Providing and maintaining utility permit standards details and policies;
• Monitoring Capital Improvement Programs;
• Performing various traffic engineering studies; and 
• Administering storm water management programs
