The Village of Western Springs will be reconstructing Central Avenue between Burlington Avenue and 47th Street. In addition to the concrete pavement reconstruction, a new storm sewer will be constructed on Elm Street, Central Avenue, and 47th Street. The Village recently received notice that the Illinois Department of Transportation has awarded the contract to the lowest responsive bidder Berger Excavating of Wauconda, Illinois. This means the project will proceed and it is expected to begin this summer. 

At this time a detailed construction schedule is not available however the Village project team believes project work may start as early as next month. A public open house meeting is scheduled for June 28, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. The meeting will be held at Spring Rock Park at the pavilion located just West of the Elm Street parking lot. Should there be inclement weather the meeting will be held at Village Hall in the All Purpose Room. The meeting will be conducted in an open house format and residents may arrive at any time to view exhibits of the improvements. Village Staff and V3 Engineering, the consultant resident engineer, will be available to discuss the project and specific impacts to your property.
