Beginning on April 8th the Village will be conducting a system wide leak detection survey on the Village's water main. A leak detection survey is a process used to try and identify underground or unforeseen leaks that exist in the Village's water main. These are leaks in the system that may not surface due to the soil conditions or the proximity of a nearby sewer, where the water is flowing into.
Residents are not expected to experience any disruptions to service while the survey is conducted. Survey crews from M.E. Simpson will tap onto hydrants and existing valve vaults in the system to conduct their survey. The survey is expected to take approximately one week.
