[ARCHIVED] Extreme Cold Causing Icing on Some Streets, Public Works Crews Are Out Salting

11-12-19 NOAA Tempuratures

The Village has received numerous calls this morning regarding icing occurring on some streets within the community. Public Works crews were out yesterday during and after the storm event plowing and salting the streets, central business district and municipal parking lots. The extreme cold temperature overnight has resulted in moisture on some streets to re-freeze.

Public Works crews are out today re-salting streets. Residents are advised to use caution when driving and walking as winter weather conditions are currently in effect. Record breaking cold temperatures are expected to continue through Wednesday. Some locations such as bridges or low areas on roads may continue to experience periods of ice due to re-freeze of water through overnight hours.
