Last week the flushing of Well #4 began in preparation to bring it back online to the water treatment plant, and the required BacT tests were undertaken and cleared.
On Saturday, however, there was an electrical issue that has been determined to relate to a possible ground fault on the electrical components below ground. Suez has re-mobilized on site, and are beginning to pull the pipe and pump back to ground level to inspect the submersible cable, pigtail splice, and motor. Currently there is no evidence of damaged equipment or any other significant failures, but the additional work may require up to an additional two weeks to complete. The appropriate pump test and BacT tests will directly follow the completion of this work.
To date the Village has not required the use of Well #1, and no water from that well has gone to distribution. It is anticipated that the water needs of the Village will continue to be met by Well #3 as the work on Well #4 continues.
