[ARCHIVED] WSPD Reminder: Governor's Order and Plans for Phase 3

After weeks of businesses being closed and having to stay in our homes, we are all very excited at the prospect of venturing out and returning to some of our pre-quarantine activities, especially during this upcoming Memorial Day weekend.

Although this is great news, it is vitally important that we remember that restrictions are still in place to reduce the level of risk, and to help keep us safe and healthy.

As we move into Phase 3 of the reopening plan on May 29, keep in mind that many activities will be altered to include safety precautions and capacity limits. Masks are required when social distancing of more than 6 feet is not possible. There are to be no more than 10 people at any gathering, and businesses will still require the use of masks in public buildings.

Many questions have arisen regarding the enforcement of the current Governor’s order and the reopening plan. The Police Department will respond to all calls for service pertaining to violations of the order by reminding people of the suggested practices and asking them to disperse.
