The Amiad iron removal equipment at the Reverse Osmosis treatment has been taken offline as of this morning (07/03) due to operational issues that have arisen with both of the units. The well #3 Amiad units were taken offline earlier this week due to increasing differential pressures related to iron fouling in the units. Equipment has been ordered to install a cleaning process on the well #3 units, but the Village is currently waiting for that equipment to be delivered.
The well #4 Amiad units experienced a fault error in the high service pumps to the units this morning. The units were taken offline as a precaution until the cause of the fault can be determined and will remain offline until water plant operators and engineers can determine the fault would cause no harm to the equipment.
Since the Amiad equipment will be offline water softening through the reverse osmosis units will also be postponed during this period. Residents may experience periods of increased hardness and dissolved solids until the Amiad units can be brought back online.
