This morning at the Tower Green, State Representative Deanne Mazzochi announced new legislation related to 5G wireless technology in suburban communities. House Bill 5818, the “Protect Me From 5G Act,” would establish greater control for local municipalities, with respect to the size and placement of small cell wireless facilities. Mazzochi hopes the bill will be considered in the General Assembly’s Fall Veto session in November. Her office put out a
press release that includes additional information.
Village President Alice Gallagher thanked Rep. Mazzochi for sponsoring the bill, noting that it was developed in collaboration with local Village Trustees. Officials from Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills were also in attendance for the announcement.
