The contractor is officially scheduled to begin the east lane reconstruction on September 21, 2020, weather permitting. Residents on the east side of Clausen should have vehicles removed from your driveway by 7:00am on September 21st. The contractor will begin the removal of existing curb, driveway aprons and pavement. It will take the contractor some time to complete removals so you may utilize your driveway if they have not reached your home by the end of the working day, but please remove your vehicle by 7:00am the next day. The west lane of Clausen will remain open for one-way traffic, southbound, while the east lane is reconstructed. Access to the west lane of Clausen will be limited during the working day due to the presence of construction traffic and personnel. All residents removed from their driveways may park on-street 24/7, in specified areas, during the project. Locations open for on-street parking our available in the map linked below.
Residents interested in using the golf cart service should provide a signed Hold Harmless Agreement to the the e-mail above or to Village Hall. The service is available Monday-Thursday (7:30am - 4:00pm) and Friday (7:30am-11:00am) and provides pick-up/drop-off from your home to your vehicle. Please understand that Public Works emergencies will take precedent over golf cart service. Residents may contact Public Works at 708-514-8874 at least an hour ahead of service.
Please contact Casey Biernacki at 708-246-1800 x 276 or at email@example.com with any questions or concerns.
**Construction of the Clausen Avenue Roadway and Water Main Improvements project for the Village of Western Springs was financed by the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (SRF). The SRF program is administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and receives a portion of its money to fund these types of projects from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This project included the installation of approximately 1,600 lineal feet of 8-inch diameter water main from Clausen Avenue – Hillgrove Avenue to 41st Street. Once complete, it will improve water system reliability for area residents and businesses in the Village of Western Springs by reducing main breaks. SRF programs operate in each state to provide communities the resources necessary to build, maintain, and improve the infrastructure that protects one of our most valuable resources: water.**
