Update 10/12/2020: The contractor has postponed the start date of the west lane and the re-opening of the east lane until tomorrow, October 13, 2020, weather permitting. The delay was due to projected inclement weather and concrete testing results for the east lane.
The removal and replacement of the west lane of Clausen Avenue will begin on October 12, 2020, weather permitting. The east lane will also be open for public use at that time and residents will once again be able to access east side driveways. Residents on the west side of Clausen Avenue should have all vehicles out of your driveway by 7:00 am on October 12th. Residents displaced from their driveway may park on street, in specified locations, for the duration of the project. Please see the map, linked below, for locations. There is no need to inform the Department of Law Enforcement as the streets will allow for on-street parking 24/7.
Please contact Casey Biernacki at 708-246-1800 x 276 or at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or concerns.
**Construction of the Clausen Avenue Roadway and Water Main Improvements project for the Village of Western Springs was financed by the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (SRF). The SRF program is administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and receives a portion of its money to fund these types of projects from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This project included the installation of approximately 1,600 lineal feet of 8-inch diameter water main from Clausen Avenue – Hillgrove Avenue to 41st Street. Once complete, it will improve water system reliability for area residents and businesses in the Village of Western Springs by reducing main breaks. SRF programs operate in each state to provide communities the resources necessary to build, maintain, and improve the infrastructure that protects one of our most valuable resources: water.**
