Water Bills: bank payments require correct address

Whether you pay bills by mail or using bank paper payment transactions, please be sure to verify all bill payment addresses.

Residents using their banks to pay their bills may have experienced a recent problem with water bill payments. In January 2019, residents were notified that the payment address for water bills had changed to PO Box 6127 Carol Stream, IL 60197-6127. This address appears on the hard copy of the bill that is sent in the mail, for use with the return envelope.

If you pay through your bank, a check will be issued (it is not an electronic payment) and if the bank has not updated the mailing address, the check may be addressed incorrectly.  While local post office staff have been re-directing some of the misaddressed payments, not all have been reaching their intended destination.

The Village is working with the post office and the banks to correct this issue, but due to the Veterans Day holiday, this cannot be resolved immediately. In the meantime, please verify all bill payment mailing addresses - and if you pay bills through your bank, be sure that they have the correct mailing address.

If you believe your most recent payment was not received, please contact the water billing department at 708-246-1800 ext. 126.
