[ARCHIVED] Early Morning Water Main Breaks May Cause Some Cloudy Water in Old Town North

Residents in the Old Town North subdivision may experience cloudy or sand colored water today due to two water main breaks that occurred during the early morning hours of February 25th located at 4324 Western Avenue and 3812 Grand Avenue. The location of both of these breaks and their proximity to each other has caused sediment in the pipes to be stirred up.

Residents returning home this evening may experience cloudy water if they have not used the fixtures in their homes through the day. The sediment in the distribution pipes should flushed out at this point, but some sediment may still be in residences. Residents are advised to run the cold water tap on the lowest fixture in their home for a period of 10-15 minutes or until the water runs clear, to flush out any remaining sediment.
