[ARCHIVED] Registration is Open for 5th & 6th Grade Basketball League

Registration is now underway for the Western Springs Recreation Department’s 5th and 6th grade basketball league. Children must live in Western Springs or attend school in District #101, #106 or St. John of the Cross. Pre-registration is required and may be done at the Recreation Offices, 1500 Walker Street, by mail or fax. Go to www.wsprings.com/recreation for the separate registration form and complete information, or call 708-246-9070. The fee is $130.00 and the deadline is November 5. Boys and girls teams are formed around their school and compete on Saturdays beginning December 6. All who register are placed on teams – no cuts. Games will be played between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. at either the Recreation Center (1500 Walker) or McClure Jr. High (4225 Wolf). The league finishes with a tournament in March. The program will improve basketball skills, develop friendships, emphasis sportsmanship, and positively impact the child’s physical stamina. Volunteer coaches are needed. A Coaches Organizational meeting is scheduled Wednesday, November 5, 6:30 p.m. and training is provided.
