Operators at the water treatment plant have recently brought online an additional chlorine feed system that will allow them to more tightly control the chlorine feed in the distribution system. The chlorine residual leaving the water plant has been slightly increased to try and compensate for the lower chlorine levels found in portions of the Ridgewood subdivision.
The southwest most portions of the subdivision occasionally experience lower chlorine residuals than the rest of the community due to the longer exposure time of the water in the pipes because of the subdivision's distance from the Village's water towers and from several dead-ends in the system.
Operators will monitor and track the residual for several weeks to determine if the desired chlorine residual is being achieved in all portions of the community.
