[ARCHIVED] Well #3 Maintenance Completed

Maintenance on well #3 has been completed and the well was put back to distribution yesterday (12/03/15) afternoon. The Village will begin easing back into normal operations while monitoring the well over the next several days. Depending upon where residents are located in town and there water usage in their particular area it may take 24-48 hours for all of the existing water to be used in the distribution system.

For those residents who had re-occurring water discoloration issues, you may want to drain your water heater to clear out any residual sediment that may have built up.

In washing machines and dishwashers, running a cycle with a product that can lower the pH will help to clean out any residual calcium or iron buildup. Several cups of vinegar in either the dishwasher or the washing machine (with no clothes) may assist with the removal of any buildup. Other products such as lemishine (citric acid) can also be used if needed.

For additional questions, please call the public works department at 708-246-1800 x 200 or the Water Department at 708-246-1800 x 215.
