[ARCHIVED] Hydrant Flushing in Ridgewood Subdivision on 12/10/2015

The Well #3 maintenance was completed on December 4, 2015 and water was treated through the RO plant and introduced back into the distribution system. Staff has received reports that the water quality in Ridgewood has not yet returned to where it was at prior to Well #3 maintenance. Therefore, Public Works will be present on Thursday, December 10th to begin flushing hydrants at predetermined locations in the subdivision. Flushing the hydrants at these dead-end locations will aid in removal of water still in the system before Well #3 was reactivated and improve overall quality.

Hydrant flushing may create cloudy or discolored water during residential use. If you experience this, please run cold water from the lowest tap in your home for 10-15 minutes or until the water runs clear.

If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact the Municipal Services department at 708-246-1800 x 200.
